Trend Analyses in Gridded Rainfall Data over the Sabarmati Basin

نویسندگان

چکیده

Sabarmati basin in India has been experiencing decreased rainfall since 1960s. In the monsoon season, maximum reduction number of rainy days was observed basin. Thus, study is necessary. Therefore, gridded data corresponding to annual, seasonal and monthly temporal scales used for trend analyses period 54 years’ (1951 2004) through application Mann-Kendall (MK) test, MK test with block-boot strapping, Sen’s slope innovative analysis plot smoothing curve. Results showed that, statistically significant trends are present at very few grid points winter, pre-monsoon almost decreasing. if same continues future, then there will be scarcity water more strain on management resources given grids scales.

Analysis of extreme daily rainfall in southeast Asia with a gridded daily rainfall data set

The objective of this study is to estimate the daily extreme precipitation distribution in an Asian monsoon region considering orographic precipitation in mountainous areas. For this purpose, the APHRODITE data set and precipitation observations from 150 raingauges throughout Thailand were used as the main input. First, a bias-correction for underestimated precipitation in the APHRODITE data se...

Multidecadal Trend of Basin-Scale Evapotranspiration Estimated Using AVHRR Data in the Krishna River Basin, India

Evapotranspiration (ET) is one of the most critical components of terrestrial water balance. Estimating reliable ET across a large region is, however, difficult due to the limited number of ground monitoring stations and the heterogeneous land surface conditions. In this work, spatially distributed monthly ET estimates in the Krishna River Basin, India, were derived using Advanced Very High Res...

Trend analysis of rainfall and temperature data for India

This article aims to review studies pertaining to trends in rainfall, rainy days and temperature over India. Sen’s non-parametric estimator of slope has been frequently used to estimate the magnitude of trend, whose statistical significance was assessed by the Mann–Kendall test. Spatial units for trend analysis vary from station data to sub-division to sub-basin/ river basins. There are differe...

A Rainfall Model Based on a Geographically Weighted Regression Algorithm for Rainfall Estimations over the Arid Qaidam Basin in China

Accurate rainfall estimations based on ground-based rainfall observations and satellite-based rainfall measurements are essential for hydrological and environmental modeling in the Qaidam Basin of China. We evaluated the accuracy of daily and monthly scale Tropical Rainfall Measuring Mission (TRMM) rainfall products in the Qaidam Basin. A Geographically Weighted Regression (GWR) was used to est...
